Discover The Simplicity of Implementing Dayuse and Going Beyond Your Bottom Line

In today's competitive hospitality industry, hoteliers are constantly seeking innovative ways to increase revenue and optimize their operations. As the industry evolves at a rapid pace, hotels must seek innovative solutions to boost revenue or else they risk being left behind. Opening up your rooms for Dayuse bookings represents a simple but effective way to optimize your unused inventory by increasing occupancy rates and thereby boosting revenue.

One transformative approach stands out:  opening up your unoccupied rooms for Dayuse bookings during the daytime. This simple but effective option will help you optimize your unused inventory by increasing occupancy rates and thereby generating pure incremental revenue. This article delves into why and how hoteliers should embrace this hot trend that has already generated over $760M in business volume for our partners since our launch.

The Dayuse Concept

Dayuse is the world’s largest platform for booking daytime hotel experiences, commanding over 90% of the market. Founded in 2011, 8,500 hotel partners in 27 countries across the globe have since joined the ride. Our user-friendly platform has made us a favorite among hotels and resorts looking to earn extra revenue by selling their empty rooms for a limited time period during a single day. As consumption trends evolve, consumers are booking hotels in different ways. Instead of keeping a room unoccupied between the check-out of a travel guest at 7am and check-in of the next guest at 8pm, there are many ways to leverage these comfortable spaces in between these hours.

How does Dayuse work?

At Dayuse, we strive to make the daytime hotel reservation process as simple as possible for both hotels and guests. Flexibility is a key aspect of our service. Our hotel partners are counselled by a dedicated account manager to create a custom-made offer that fits with your operational schedule. It is up to you to define the time slots and the room types that will be available to our common customers. We need the time slots to be at least 5 hours long, with the most popular being the Classic slot from 11 am to 5 pm. Early Break and Late Break time slots can also be offered if they fit the hotel’s internal operational schedule.

With regards to room types, you can choose to solely offer standard rooms however, we strongly recommend adding other type rooms at higher rates such as deluxe rooms and/or suites. We grant our partners flexibility when it comes to setting the rates for a Dayuse reservation. To entice Dayuse customers to book a daystay, we require a 30% minimum discount in comparison to the price of an overnight stay.

Once a hotel has joined the Dayuse community, they gain access to our partner portal. This is a user-friendly platform designed to make it as simple as possible for hotels to implement Dayuse into their operations. The partner portal enables you to:

  • Check and manage all bookings to your hotel made through Dayuse

  • Adjust your availabilities and rates

  • Monitor your hotel’s performance

  • Connect with our responsive customer support team who are available 7 days a week to assist with any problems or questions you may have.

How Dayuse Boosts Your Revenue

3.6

Bookings per minute

Allowing guests to book rooms by the day unlocks an entire new revenue stream for your hotel. Research shows that up to 70% of hotel rooms are empty during the day between check-outs in the morning and check-ins at nighttime. This unoccupied space means missed revenue and Dayuse aims to help hotels capture this revenue. By simply opening up your available rooms for Dayuse reservations, you can immediately start bringing in additional income without making significant changes to your operations.

One of the key benefits of Dayuse is our impact on occupancy rates. Our service effectively enables you to sell your rooms twice a day, even if you already have a 100% occupancy rate. Dayuse partners regularly enjoy occupancy rates as high as 115%. Furthermore, our customers are typically awake and active during their stay. They want to make the most of their daycation. This boosts revenue from additional hotel services such as restaurants, bars, spas, etc. On average, Dayuse customers spend 40% more on hotel add-ons than overnight guests.
