1. Why They Book With Dayuse

Although Dayuse’s customer base encompasses a diverse range of profiles, we generally categorize them into three distinct guest personas. The first one is leisure customers who comprise 50% of our total guests. These are mainly locals looking for a close getaway without the commitment or hefty price tag of an overnight stay. As people seek fresh avenues to craft lasting memories and commemorate special occasions, hotels are emerging as an exciting playground for daytime escapades. Occasions can vary from couples celebrating an anniversary, parents wanting to enjoy a luxury daycation without the kids, girlfriends on a spa day or just individuals who crave some rejuvenating me-time.

Travellers represent 30% of our guests, whether on a layover,  an early arrival after a red-eye flight or in transit. Many travelers arrive at their holiday destination early in the morning, exhausted after their flight and ready to hop into their hotel bed only to find out they can’t check in until the afternoon. Here’s where Dayuse steps in! We offer the flexibility to create early daytime slots, allowing these travelers to catch a power nap while they await their official check-in time, whether it's within your property or elsewhere. A similar situation arises for those with late departures who need a safe and comfortable place to wait.

The last category of Dayuse guest personas is professionals on the go (20%). They may be digital nomads or remote workers who are seeking an office for a few hours or just a change of scenery for their work day. They can take advantage of hotel amenities such as free wifi or business centers and enjoy a drink at the bar after work hours.

Dayuse guests typically want to make the most of their short time at the hotel. For many guests, this means trying out all of the establishment’s amenities and purchasing add-ons such as a bottle of champagne, massages, snacks etc. On average, Dayuse guests spend 40% more on add-ons than regular hotel guests.

2. Demographics

We recently conducted a survey of our US customers. The first observation made when viewing the results of this survey is that we have almost complete parity between male and female customers. We have an almost perfect split between genders. Regarding age brackets, we noticed a lot of diversity. Our customers range from as young as 21 to over 60 years old. Over 70% of our users are between the ages of 25-45. Overall, we reached the conclusion that our customers tend to be urbanites who live a fast-paced life. They seek out Dayuse either to facilitate their work as digital nomads or to take a relaxing break from the day-to-day grind.
