Sallés Hotels, a family-run Spanish group of 4-star and 5-star hotels, saw the hours between check-out and check-in not as downtime, but as inventory. So it brought six of its hotels onto Dayuse — turning those mid-day hours into a high-margin revenue stream, without giving up a single overnight booking.

THE DAYTIME OPPORTUNITY

In hospitality, the entire commercial engine is built around the overnight stay. OTAs, direct booking and other traditional channels all sell the night, and revenue management exists to optimise it. The hours in between — usually 10am to 6pm — fall outside that system, so for most hotels they earn nothing, day after day.

It was never a question of demand. Travellers want those hours — to rest between flights, to work somewhere quiet, to spend an afternoon by the pool. What the industry lacked was a way to match that demand to rooms already standing empty. That is the gap Sallés set out to close.

HOW SALLÉS DID IT

Sallés listed its rooms on Dayuse on a commission-only model with no upfront cost: the group sets its own rates, keeps full control of inventory and can close out any date, supported throughout by a dedicated Dayuse account manager.

Operational efficiency is at the core of Sallés Hotels, and its teams adapted seamlessly — same front desk, same housekeeping routine, no extra staff. Day guests check out well before the evening arrivals, giving housekeeping a natural window to reset rooms. And because Dayuse reaches an audience the overnight channels never touch — local residents, remote workers and travellers in transit — every daytime booking is genuinely new business.

Sallés sees an outstanding response from two distinct segments — roughly 45% local leisure guests and 55% international travellers already familiar with Dayuse. Together they add hundreds of extra bookings, and thousands of euros in pure additional revenue, every month — proof, in the group’s words, that Dayuse is “a highly lucrative tool for modern hospitality groups.”

And the upside reaches beyond the room. Because day guests come for a premium “daycation” rather than just a bed, they spend across the hotel: Sallés reports “a substantial and quantifiable increase in secondary spending on our premium amenities” — from spa treatments to rooftop bars to their culinary experience — lifting the overall average spend per guest.

The guest experience holds up just as well: Dayuse guests rate Sallés hotels 4.7 out of 5 — scores that strengthen each property’s reputation and bring guests back.

From the guests themselves, via Dayuse:

“Used you twice now and brilliant.” — Nigel, Sallés Hotel Ciutat del Prat

“A quality hotel for a relaxing day; very comfortable and spotless. We’ll come back without hesitation.” — Alina, Sallés Hotel Marina Portals

“Spectacular staff service and a perfect room — impeccable spa with towels included.” — Betlem, Hotel Marina Badalona
